A Status Update 5-29-26

Recently this morning, I went to the Moonlight Cafe in my neighborhood to get some breakfast while my clothes were washing at the laundromat. While I was waiting for my order, I saw my old ceramics teacher from high school say hi to me. It was pretty surprising to see her for a very long time, and we talked about what I was doing after I graduated from high school. After finishing my meal, I went back to the laundromat and did the rest of the usual stuff and went home to rest.

While I was at home, I decided to watch a random film on Netflix starring Daniel Craig. It was pretty interesting to see how he can still act outside of being James Bond in the 007 films. A decent film, from my experience. Maybe I could find some more hidden gems on that service and other platforms.

Now I go back to do what I usually do best, and that is to keep some wikis up-to-date.

Current Status 12-27-25

It was a hell of a week for me. My mom and her new husband decide to clean up the living room and patio area just to get rid of all the junk and make them more presentable. Not to mention it was raining a lot, almost preventing me to do my usual city walk, but I managed to do all the things I wanted to do without getting soaking wet.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Costco and bought some food supplies I need that will last me for about a month while my parents were buying ingredients for the family dinner. Later that evening, we had a family dinner, ate some great food my mom cooked, when suddenly the power went out in the middle of the storm. I had to make sure everyone in the household was okay, even my sister and her family until the power finally came back on around 9PM. After that happened, my parents decide to do some karaoke until midnight. While I was asleep, the power went out again, and I didn't notice it until I woke up and saw my computer desk light up.

On Christmas Day, we didn't do much, since it was pretty much part 2 of the dinner from last night, but I did get to watch the 2nd half of Stranger Things season 5 to see how the group will stop Vecna and save the city of Hawkins and the world. It was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to see the finale on New Years Eve.

The day after Christmas, I decided to go to Japantown, the Nintendo store and Stonestown to do some shopping, and boy, there was a lot of people trying to get gifts, because there were sales going on, and they wanted to get the best deals possible. In the end, I got out safely, and did all the usual stuff I do at home.

Overall, my week was pretty fair, even though there were some stressful moments. As the new year is about to arrive next week, let's hope it won't be as crappy as the year we're on, and make our future the best it will ever be.

My Experience on Fandom

The Hyperdimension Neptunia Wiki on Fandom

Ever since I joined Fandom on March 21, 2018, I've helped fix up the Hyperdimension Neptunia and Gal*Gun wikis by adding missing information and photos, improving a lot of pages, and adding new templates that would later promote me to being a moderator, and later an administrator in the former. Prior to joining, I've gained a lot of experience working with wiki pages on TCRF since Christmas 2015, which would later adapt to the Fandom wikis. I've helped a few new contributors trying to edit, and even got rid of some vandals attempting to turn the wiki into a wasteland. All of that hard work made me get into the no.1 spot on the leaderboard.

Fandom Neptunia Wiki leaderboard as of 7/18/25

It was great getting this wiki to be more reliable, until a controversial change from Fandom happened. The site was getting bombarded with a lot of unnecessary ads, surveys and slowdown, leading to fellow contributors leaving the site entirely and migrating to alternative wiki farms and independent wikis. As the Hyperdimension Neptunia Wiki would almost become a wasteland like the other ones, I tried to get this wiki as up-to-date as possible with a fellow active admin, until the latter stopped, and rarely contributed, making me the most active admin on the wiki.

Later on the Gamindustri Standard Discord server, a fellow user who goes by the name "Guicool" decided to establish an independent host for the new Neptunia wiki, and offered to invite me to be the new bureaucrat for the wiki. I accepted, and on the Fandom wiki, I made an announcement that the wiki would be forked onto a new host without all the controversial stuff Fandom put on there. As the fork was complete, the new Neptunia wiki would go live on March 2, 2025, leading me to say my farewell to the Fandom wiki, and Fandom in general.

The Neptunia Wiki (neptunia.wiki)

Fandom may be the no.1 host for all known wikis, but all the backlash towards them made them the most hated wiki farm in history. Yes, there are other hosts like Miraheze and wiki.gg, but being on an independent host gives people the freedom to post whatever Fandom doesn't allow, even though there are a few caveats. All in all, it was a pretty nice experience after 7 years of being on Fandom. I hope the original owner is proud that the Neptunia wiki is on a new host.

A Sesame Street Childhood Song

There's this one song that I remember listening to as a child, that I kept misinterpreting it, until I knew what the real lyrics are, it's called "Once Is Not Enough".

When I first heard it on Play With Me Sesame, I first thought the chorus was "What is in the box?", but that was the younger me not understanding what they were saying. I kept on singing that part, and one of my family members, especially my mom and my sisters, also sang along too. It was so dumb, but it was actually pretty funny singing that.

Fast forward to 2024, and I finally knew what that song was, thanks to the Muppet wiki. So here's the actual song in full:

And as a bonus, here's another song that also appeared on the same show, which is a banger from my childhood:

The Troubled Development of Gamindustri Riot

Title screen of the game
Back in 2015, I had this idea to create the "first ever" Hyperdimension Neptunia fangame when someone at the ChronoCrash forums posted about seeing or creating a fangame based off of Neptunia U. I replied by saying that I can make it happen and development had started.

I first started with drawing the character sprites, taking inspiration from the Kunio-kun series and using some base sprites I found on the internet as a template. It felt pretty complicated trying to do the goddesses in the River City style, going frame-by-frame, but I got the hang of it once I progressed. One of the first characters I've done wasn't actually part of the Neptunia series, but from the Disgaea series. That character was Fuka Kazamatsuri, a character from the fourth game, in which I was originally going to make her a playable character, but I decided to make her a boss character instead. Then, I started to do work on the main CPUs and Candidates, and of course the makers. I've seemed to like the end results of what I've created, but the most challenging part was trying to get IF's hair right. Drawing her hair to make it look like her official art was a real pain, but I did whatever I can to reflect it and went with the final result as shown below alongside the others.

Early sprites of the playable characters
Blanc, her hammer and Gust

After drawing the necessary sprites, I decided to focus on the gameplay. I started using OpenBOR as an engine for the game and did some basic work for it such as adding characters, stages and music. As I was pretty new to coding since I was still in high school taking a computer programming class, I messed around with some custom code created by some users at ChronoCrash with some code of my own to see what would and wouldn't work for this game.

Some screenshots of the game:

For the story, I originally wanted to make it as a semi-crossover game featuring characters from the Disgaea series. Here's a brief summary on what the story was going to be:

After a bunch of failed attempts of defeating the goddesses, the remaining members of ASIC thought of a new plan to take over Gamindustri and resurrect their goddess Arfoire: create a super army from another dimension. as the group offered to recruit troops from different dimensions, A lot of them rejected, but only one had accepted to join forces: The Netherworld!

They have agreed that if they defeat the 4 Goddesses and Candidates, they will give them what they want.

Now it's up to the CPUs to stop ASIC's new super army of demons (and Prinnies, dood!) and bring peace back to Gamindustri!

As this story being bizarre as it can be, I, with the help of a certain someone at ChronoCrash and the Nepboards, have only finished about 50% of it, with most of the stages having some or no scenes at all. There's this one scenario in Stage 3 where the CPUs meet Asagi, thinking that she's a resident of Lowee, but she's actually there to be a protagonist for the next game. This would continue around the middle of Stage 6 where they're at the Netherworld and the end of Stage 9 where they fight her for the final time. This would later reveal that the Asagi they met at Lowee is actually an imposter working for ASIC, with the real Asagi coming out to kill the imposter and join forces with the goddesses. Besides her, I wanted to have other characters join the main eight, like Fuka, Desco, Laharl, Etna, and Flonne.

For the Final Stage, It would have Gamindustri's super army of their own vs. ASIC right at Spectral Tower where our heroes barge in and reach the top of the tower. As they arrive, they encounter Linda, Warechu and a resurrected CFW Magic standing near Arfoire's casket. The goddesses would then get ambushed by the Prinnies with Linda congratulating them. And here's a plot twist: the Prinnies would tell ASIC about their actual plan: turning Gamindustri into a training camp for the Netherworld by resurrecting Overlord Baal to destroy the world. This would be teased at the end of the previous stage where the goddesses see a prophecy on the wall about defeating the overlord. Continuing on with the scenario: As Arfoire is fully revived with a ridiculous amount of power, she attempts to kill the Prinnies and the members of ASIC, but is stopped by the goddesses who then decide to fight her. After the brawl, Arfoire ascends to Celestia, then the tower begins to crumble with the goddesses and ASIC on it. As the latter make their escape, Flonne appears out of nowhere and opens the portal to Celestia for the goddesses to follow Arfoire.

The CPUs arrive at Celestia where they encounter some angels laying on the ground, stating that they tried to stop Arfoire from entering, but she was too overpowered. As they reach the final area, they are met with a form of Arfoire, similar to her True form in mk2. Arfoire attempts to make the final blow, but is killed by Overlord Baal.

For the ending, the CPUs defeat the Overlord with the remaining angels congratulating them for saving Celestia and Gamindustri. As they return to the latter, the goddesses make a peace treaty with members of the Netherworld, and would have scenarios of what happened afterward. The post-credits scene would have Arfoire as a Prinny working for Etna, and teases that she will be back for revenge.

For unlockables, I planned to have Nisa, Gust, Plutia, and Peashy as unlockable characters after beating the game just once and also a Hardcore mode where the enemies are much tougher and different.

I didn't have an actual release date planned for this game, but one of them was a planned Fall 2018 release (I originally planned for a 2016 release based on some old files laying around), until I decided to put the project on indefinite hiatus. This was a real pain for me because I had school and work to do, and I didn't have any plans to continue the project along with its sequels and other projects, so I just left it there. I felt pretty disappointed that I never had the chance to do all this during my free time because of these reasons.

Overall, this was a very nice project to do, except all of the development hell I had to go through, and it may have inspired other Neptunia fans to create fangames of their own, such as Hyperdimension Girl Quest, Exadimension Neptunia and Dimension Breaker.

My Experience with Tumblr

Back before I had this personal blog, I first started using Tumblr to get some experience with blogging. Prior to when I created my first blog, I saw a lot of posts from other blogs based on video games, anime, films, comics, and even porn! One of the main topics that caught my eye was a known Japanese video game series called Hyperdimension Neptunia.

At a time when I was keeping up with the latest games in the franchise, I created my first ever blog on March 2015 and started posting and reblogging content, such as official renders, magazine scans and fanart. After years of posting, I've gained a lot of likes and reblogs and even got over 1,000 followers. This was one of my biggest achievements from using that platform.

The amount of posts and followers as of 3/21/23

When Tumblr announced that they were going to ban NSFW content in 2018, I started to lose interest and rarely post on my blog. A few years after the porn ban, I decided to put my blog to rest and turn it into an archive of all the posts I've made plus some posts from other users.

Overall, I had a great time using Tumblr, finding some rare pictures and following some artists that posted there. We can all say about the negative stuff that has happened, but that did not stop us from making blogs based on our interests.

Computer Case for 2023 PC Build

Last week, I've ordered a computer case for my gaming PC build. As I am slowly buying all the parts I need plus some old parts I have to build this, I am planning to get a micro ATX motherboard with support for DDR5 RAM next month.

The Weirdest Music Video I've Seen

When I was young, I saw the music video for Robbie Williams' hit song "Rock DJ" for the first time. My first reaction when it started was "Oh, he's gonna start dancing with the ladies in front of him", and when it got to the part where he starts taking his clothes off, things got a bit spicier. During the strip scene, Robbie decided to take it a step further by peeling his skin off revealing his muscular flesh, and I felt weirded out when I saw that happen. And to top it off, he [REDACTED cause I don't want to go too far], turning him into a red skeleton and decides to dance with the DJ in the video to end it. When the video concluded, I didn't quite understand what was going on, And if I ever saw it again, I would still be weirded out.

Overall. the song felt pretty catchy, and I started to sing the chorus line and think about the music video until it faded and I moved on to other modern music that was on TV and the radio.

"I don't wanna ride, BJ"

Current Status 11-19-22

Whew, using a wiki bot to do a lot of batch edits really kept me up all night. Hope I didn't feel too groggy after waking up. Maybe I should find more uses for that bot.

Posting Here For Now

Due to the recent controversy that's happening on Twitter, I will be posting here until the new owner can fix his company and revert it back to the way it was, so that his employees can go back to work. Otherwise, there will be a boycott.

Spring Break is Almost Here

Ah, Spring Break. The time to do a lot of fun stuff for the whole week such as going to the beach, eating out, cleaning, or just staying at home. Since I don't have many plans to do this week as of when this post was made, I'm mostly going to clean and get all that nasty junk out of my room and organize some files on my computer.

[Koikatsu] Singing for the Holidays

Normally, I don't post Koikatsu content on this blog, but I'll put this as an exception. This is something I made to celebrate the holiday season, and I'm satisfied on how it turned out.

Current Status as of 8-12-21

I've been doing a lot of binge watching on a lot of old and current movies on HBO Max and Peacock. I've watched episodes of South Park, Regular Show, and Batman: The Animated Series. I also saw a couple of movies including: Space Jam 2, Fast & Furious, The Matrix, and The Suicide Squad. Hope I can get into other streaming services someday, like Netflix and Paramount+.

My birthday is coming up, and thanks to my sister, she gave me tickets to see Green Day and Fall Out Boy live at Oracle Park! The last time I've been in a concert was at the Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. I wasn't familiar with some of the groups that performed, but I bet that this concert will be worth her money spent since these are the bands that I grew up listening to plus a special guest. So shout outs to my sister for giving me concert tickets!

Overall, this month is going to be the greatest month for me with some of the special events going on, and I hope I can have an awesome time before I can actually go back to my regular life once I get a call from my manager to see if I can go back to work.

Summer is Here

The season of hot weather and beaches has finally arrived! With the pandemic slowly coming to an end, businesses finally reopening in some places, and the Olympics happening after a delay, I bet this Summer will be a safe, but fun one with a lot of people getting fully vaccinated. As for me, I've got my vaccination and will finally go out more often to burn all that fat from when the pandemic hit, although I may need to wear a mask for those around me.

Neptunia Virtual Stars - Ten Tribute

As a tribute to one of my favorite Pearl Jam albums of all time and its 30th anniversary, I've made a parody of the album cover featuring Gamindustri's CPUs and Faira.

No More Fry's Electronics

Fry's website in its final days

It's sad to see another electronic retailer go out of business after decades of activity. I remember my first time going to one of their stores in San Jose with my family, and it felt like paradise. It had a lot of stuff a tech geek would want such as: computer parts, TVs, home theater equipment, video games, and other electronic needs. What they also had was movies, TV products, toys, magazines, and even porn!

There were two locations that I know were in San Jose, one had an Aztec theme, while the other had an old west theme. Both stores sold the same products, but the Aztec themed Fry's felt larger to me. I also remember one of the locations having a cafe where they sold some hot food and snacks, but I never had the chance to try them.

Going there years later, and it felt like a ghost town with nearly empty shelves of unsold products. It just didn't feel right even after going there several years ago, it's like they couldn't keep up with competing retailers and want to call it quits.

Fry's may have been the "Electronic Paradise" for tech geeks and people who can't find what they're looking for since they first opened their first stores, but their legacy will live on in our hearts!
